According to Die Welt, tape.tv is posing “tough competition for MTV and Viva,” and we agree, they have got this music-channel-business just right.

Started in 2008 by Conrad Fritzsch and Stephanie Renner, tape.tv is advancing the way we see music television; the website enables the viewer to effectively design their own music channel, which—thanks to the company’s unique memory technology—adapts automatically to the user’s own personal taste. If you are sick of trawling through endless channels, and still end up listening to something you don’t particularly like, we suggest you sign up to this growing enterprise and let your music find you.

Unlike was invited to an evening of acoustic delights to start tape.tv’s series of summer roof top gigs, it was a stunning event with music to match. Norman Palm kicked off the night with his whimsical, heartfelt tunes followed by East London lad, Plan B playing from his number one UK album ‘The Defamation of Strickland Banks’ and covering some of his individual favorites. Top music with a beer in hand, what more could you want?

Throughout the summer there will be more concerts from the likes of Fotos and Gisbert zu Knyphausen, all of which you can experience from the comfort of your own home via their aufdendaechernberlins channel.
